Before You Send

A little context helps a lot

For a correction, name the person and explain what appears wrong. Then include proof when possible: a census, obituary, death certificate, marriage record, Bible page, headstone photograph, land record, military record, or link to a reliable source.

PhotographsTell me who is pictured, where it was taken, the approximate date, and who owns the original.

CorrectionsShare the current information, the proposed correction, and the evidence supporting it.

Family storiesSay who told the story and whether it is documented, remembered, or still unverified.
